When in 2002 Jean-Claude (JC) and Carolyn Martin took up the challenge of establishing a winery in a remote corner of the Walker Bay Wine Region.
In 2002, Swiss wine-maker Jean-Claude Martin and his South African wife Carlyn (coming from a wine-making family) founded the Creation Wine estate on their little peace of paradise in the Hemel-en-Aarde (Heaven and Earth Valley) near Hermanus.
On the Hemel-en-Aarde ridge, the Creation winery enjoys ideally cool, maritime conditions. At 350 meters above sea level, the vines thrive on clay soil that is over 450 million years old. You will be spoiled by ample sunshine and the cool breeze of the Atlantic. Thanks to these factors, the grapes are of consistenly high quality and enable the "creation" of complex, finess-rich wines with great depth.
