Steenberg is the oldest farm in Constantia, founded as early as 1682, even before Simon van der Stel built the first mansion in Constantia. At that time the farm was called "Swaaneweide". The farm is 203 hectares, of which 63 hectares are under vines at 60 - 160 meters above sea level.
Johan Loubser is something like the white wine king in South Africa. He produces some of South Africa's finest Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon wines at Steenberg.
The Steenberg wines are good accompaniments to food with good acidity and fruity expression. This thanks to the cool Constantia climate.
