The couple Vinzia and Salvatore Di Gaetano founded the winery in 1985 and have since developed it very successfully; daughter Irene and her husband Federico Lombardo are now working in the company.
Today Firriato is one of the most renowned wine houses in Sicily and covers 420 hectares of vines. Spread over six vineyards in the Trapani, Favignana and Etna area, they produce wines tailored to the respective terroir according to organic guidelines.
Firriato has been pursuing a very environmentally conscious, sustainable way of working for over 20 years and is the first certified CO2-neutral winery in Europe.
