Roberto Sarotto - "Briccomacchia" Barbera d'Alba DOC * 2021

The vines of Roberto Sarotto are rooted in the best appellations of Piedmont. Wines from Barolo, Barbaresco, Neviglie and Gavi rest in the cellars. Particular attention is paid to the care of the vines, because Roberto Sarotto is convinced that a good wine is made in the vineyard and grows in the cellar. He takes care of the traditional Piedmontese grape variety Barbera. Almost half of the region is planted with it. Briccomacchia is the name of the hill where the grapes for the wine grow.

Rich ruby with strong violet reflections. Slightly closed, compote-like on the nose, blackberries, warm roasted notes, wood and cocoa with a lush vanilla note in the finish. Distinctive acidity, structure emphasized, sweetish on the palate, finely tart, earthy components and slightly mineral in the finish. A terroir-influenced, elegant wine with storage potential. Carafing is worthwhile because it promotes the variety of aromas.
